Donation to the Detroit Fitness Foundation The Detroit Fitness Foundation is a Michigan-based 501C3 non-profit with a mission to: “To provide fitness and sports opportunities for area residents with a focus on youth and seniors.” As the overseer of the Lexus Velodrome, a 64,000 multi-sport complex located in the heart of Detroit, the DFF is committed to promoting fitness and healthy living for both youth and seniors. The facility is sponsored by Lexus and three invested dealers, Meade Lexus of Lakeside, Meade Lexus of Southfield, and Lexus of Ann Arbor, with additional support from Diversified Members Credit Union and the Detroit Medical Center. With its FREE programs for every youngster aged 17 and under, and FREE facility time to seniors five days a week, the LV programming is designed to meet the goals of the mission. The summer cycling camps alone have already taught over 500 youngsters how to ride or improve their bike riding skills, while the Lexus Junior Team of bike racers have sent 14 youth to the nationals in California in 2019. This unique experience has produced medal-winning results, including 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 7 Bronze Medals. It was the first time many of these youngsters had been out of Detroit or on an airplane, making it a unique and enriching experience. The senior usage of the facility is growing weekly, and the DFF is still in its infancy. However, they are dedicated to achieving their mission of making fitness and healthy living a core value in the community. Support their efforts by donating today.
