Cycling Track

The 166M/10th mile oval is banked 50˚in the turns, 15˚ in the straights. It was designed for ease of use by every age and caliber bicyclist — from youngsters just learning to ride on the “red boards” to professional racers pedaling through turns at 35+ miles per hour. Adult Programs

Track 101

Required lesson for everyone BEFORE riding the track. Two hour session covers the basics: How to ride a fixed gear bicycle, how to start, slow down, stop and the rules of track etiquette.

Open Riding

Cyclist have several hours a day to ride the newest indoor track in North America. Whether you ride to race or ride for fitness, the Lexus Velodrome has time for you.

Structured Training

Coach-directed workouts will benefit all riders – from beginner to elite. Improve technique, skills and endurance at every session.

Racing & Spectating

The Lexus Velodrome will host races most Saturday nights throughout the winter season. All races will be livestreamed and four Championship  Games events will be telecast via DPTV-PBS.

On-site spectators will experience thrilling live race action from the Sky Walkway or seated trackside in one of our infield suites.

Youth Programs

After School

Youth under 18 can learn to ride the track via our FREE program that includes coaching, helmets, shoes, bikes and track time.  Incentivized goals for repeated workouts will give Lexus Velodrome Youth the competitive edge.

School Field Trips

Detroit students will learn many lesson at the Lexus Velodrome. Field trip topics include bicycling and transportation history, mathematics of 50˚banking, importance of physical fitness and more. Balance Bikes

Children ages 3-6 will have a blast learning how to ride in our FREE balance bike class. Be amazed at how quickly your youngster learns to ride a bicycle in a safe and friendly environment. Bikes and helmets are provided.  Parent or guardian must be attend with child.
